The devastating impact of World War II deeply affected all countries, whether
they were a party to the war or not. As a result of the social, political and
economic problems created by this war in our country, a substantial portion of our
population immigrated to Germany in accordance with the Ankara Agreement
since 1961 with the thought of living in better conditions. Political pressure and
economic depression come first among the causes of migration. The National
Democratic Revolution Movement, which started in the 1960s, and the student
events that followed, resulted in the military coup of March 12, 1971. In this
process, Güney Dal, who spent his youth and student years in our country,
immigrated to Germany in 1972. Our writers, who had to emigrate for various
reasons, caused a new literature to be born in Germany. Güney Dal, one of the
important names of this literature, which is described as Guest Worker Literature,
continued his literary life in Germany, which he started in Turkey. Our author,
who created his early works with the understanding of socialist realism; In his
works of the second period, he was based on postmodernism, which is the new
understanding of the changing and developing world. Along with the reasons that
prepared the formation process of Turkish Literature in Germany, the works of
Güney Dal were evaluated in terms of the traces of socialist realist literature and
postmodern literature.
