2112 NUMARALI YOZGAT NÜFUS DEFTERİ’NİN DEĞERLENDİRMESİ VE TRANSKRİPSİYONU

Abstract

Osmanlı Devleti’nde modern olarak nitelendirilen ilk nüfus sayımı 1830-1831 senesinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu defterler, hem ilgili olduğu yerlerin hem de dönemin demografik, ekonomik ve sosyolojik yapısı hakkında zengin bilgiler ihtiva ederler. Bölgenin idari yapısı, yerleşim yerlerinin isimleri, şahısların isim ve lakap bilgileri, erkek nüfusun sayısı ve askerlik durumu, vergi mükellefleri, doğum ve ölüm tarihleri, nüfus hareketleri gibi birçok husus söz konusu defterler sayesinde öğrenilebilmektedir. Bu çalışmada Çapanoğulları’nın gelmesiyle birlikte göç almaya başlayan ve Anadolu’nun önemli yerleşim yerlerinden biri olan Yozgat Kasabası’nın merkeze ait bilgilerin yer aldığı 2112 numaralı ve 1840 tarihli Yozgat nüfus defteri ele alınmıştır. Bu defterde Yozgat Kasabası’na ait Medrese Mahallesi, Taşköprü Mahallesi, Tekke Mahallesi, İstanbulluoğlu Mahallesi, Mutafoğlu Mahallesi, Köseoğlu Mahallesi, Tuzkaya Mahallesi, Çatak Mahallesi , Nohutlu Mahallesi ile Sarıkaya Mezrası ve Kızılviran Mezraları’nda yaşayan 1504 haneye ait nüfus bilgileri verilmiştir. Defterde Yozgat Kasabası’na ait dokuz mahalle ve iki mezrada yaşayan nüfusa ait isimler, yaşları, lakapları, meslekleri, askerlikle olan ilişkileri gibi hususların yanı sıra hastalıklara da yer verilmiştir.

First population census which is characterized as a modern census in Ottoman Empire was carried out between 1830 and 1831.These registers involve a lot of information about both where revelant and demographic, economic and social structures of their own periods. A lot of specialities like administrative structure of region, names of settlements, informations of people’s names and nicknames, number of men population and their military services, taxpayers, dates of birth and death, population movements can be learned from theese register. In this study, the Yozgat population book dated 2130 and dated 1830, which includes information about the center of the town of Yozgat, one of the important settlements of Anatolia, which started to receive migration with the arrival of Çapanoğulları, was discussed. In this register, population information of 1504 households living in the Medrese district, Tekke district, İstanbuloğlu district, Mutaoğlu district, Köseoğlu district, Tuzkaya district, Çatak district, Nohutlu district, Kızılviran hamlet and Sarıkaya hamlet of the town of Yozgat is given. The register contains the names, ages, nicknames, professions, registration procedures for military service as well as diseases of the population living in nine districts and two hamlets of the town of Yozgat.
