Karbon monoksitin vücuttaki tedavi edici fonksiyonlarının incelenmesi için yapılan çalışmaların başlangıcı 2002 yılının başlarında olmasına rağmen günümüzde halen devam etmektedir. Bu çalışmalara göre karbon monoksit sadece “sessiz katil” olarak tanımlanan zehirli bir gaz değil aynı zamanda pek çok hastalığın tedavisinde kullanılma potansiyeline sahip bir gazotransmitter moleküldür. Bu molekülün tedavi edici özelliklerinden faydalanmak için ihtiytaç duyulduğu bölgeye güvenli şekilde taşınması ve ulaştığında ise kontrollü bir şekilde kullanılması çok önemlidir. Bu nedenle karbon monoksitin taşınması için metal karbonil kompleksleri analiz edilmiştir.
Adını yapısında bulundurduğu karbon monoksitten alan metal karbonil- kompleksleri son yıllarda karbon monoksit taşıyıcısı olarak sıklıkla çalışılmaktadır. Bu nedenle bu tez kapsamında [Mn(CO)3(bpy)L]PF6 (L: 1-İzopropilbenzimidazol, 1-Allilbenzimidazol, 1-(2-Metallil)benzimidazol, 1-(3,3-Dimetilallil)benzimidazol, 1-(2-Viniletoksietil)benzimidazole) tipi moleküller sentezlenerek FT-IR, 1H NMR ve 13C NMR ile karakterize edilmişlerdir. Bu moleküllerin karbon monoksit salınım özellikleri Myoglobin-Assay yöntemi ile incelenmiş ve bu tez kapsamında sunulmuştur.
Research about the therapeutic properties of carbon monoxide still continue although the beginning of the studies was in 2002. According to these studies, carbon monoxide is not only a poisonous gas defined as the "silent killer", but also a gasotransmitter molecule that has potential for using in the treatment of many diseases. In order to benefit from the therapeutic properties of this molecule, it is very important to transport it safely to the area where it is needed and to use it in a controlled manner when it reaches there. Therefore, metal carbonyl complexes were analyzed for the transportation of carbon monoxide.
Metal carbonyl complexes, which take their name from the carbon monoxide they contain, have been frequently studied as carbon monoxide carriers in recent years. Therefore, in this thesis, [Mn(CO)3(bpy)L]PF6 (L: 1-isopropylbenzimidazole, 1-allylbenzimidazole,1-(2-metallyl)benzimidazole, 1-(3,3 dimethylallyl)benzimidazole, 1-(2-viniletoksietil)benzimidazole) type molecules were synthesized and characterized by FT-IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR. The carbon monoxide releasing properties of these molecules were examined by the Myoglobin-Assay method and presented in this thesis.
