Bu araştırmada, ilkokul kademesinde okuma öğrenme sürecine ilişkin mevcut durumu ortaya koyarak okul öncesi eğitime katılan öğrencilerin 12 hafta süresince Etkileşimli Kitap Okuma uygulamaları aracılığıyla erken okuryazarlık becerileri desteklenen ve okul öncesi eğitime katılamayan öğrencilerin okuma öğrenme sürecine ilişkin deneyimlerinin karşılaştırılmasına odaklanılmıştır. İlkokulda okuma öğrenme sürecindeki mevcut durumu sınıf öğretmeniyle yapılan görüşmeler ve araştırmacı gözlemleriyle ortaya koymayı hedefleyen bu araştırmada nitel araştırma yaklaşımlarından durum çalışması kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın katılımcılarını; okul öncesi eğitim alan 3 öğrenci, okul öncesi eğitime katılamayan 2 öğrenci, bir sınıf öğretmeni olmak üzere toplam 6 kişi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak ise araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilmiş yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formları (öğretmen), öğretmen günlükleri, Erken Okuryazarlık Testi (EROT), araştırmacı gözlemleri, resimli çocuk kitabı ve bu kitaba ait okuduğunu anlama soruları kullanılmıştır Araştırmada toplanan veriler betimsel analiz ile analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin betimlenmesi sonucu elde edilen bulgular, ilgili literature dayanarak tartışılmış ve araştırmanın amaçları doğrultusunda sonuç ve öneriler oluşturulmuştur.
Araştırma sonuçlarına göre öğrencilerin erken okuryazarlık beceri gelişimlerinin okuma ögrenme becerilerine büyük katkı sağladığı görülmüştür. Aynı zamanda erken okuryazarlık beceri gelişiminde gelişimi destekleyici planlamanın sadece okul ortamında kalmasıyla birlikte özellikle yaz tatili gibi uzun süreli bir tatilde öğrenme kaybının yaşandığı görülmüştür Okul öncesi eğitimin ve erken okuryazarlık beceri gelişimine yönelik uygulanan Etkileşimli Kitap Okuma (EKO) etkinliklerinin okuma öğrenme sürecine katkı sağladığı görülmüştür Araştırma sonucunda okumayı ögrenme süreci okul öncesi eğitime katılma bağlamında incelenmiştir Okuma öğrenme sürecinde öğrencilerin bireysel farklılıklarına ve hazırbulunuşluk düzeylerine uygun olarak okuma öğrenme sürecinin daha uzun süreli planlanması önerileri sunulmuştur.
In this study, it was focused on the comparison of the experiences of the students who received pre-school education regarding the reading learning process, whose early literacy skills were supported through 12 weeks of Interactive Book Reading applications by revealing the current situation regarding the reading-learning process at primary school level. A case study, one of the qualitative research approaches, was used in this research, which aims to reveal the current situation in the reading learning process in primary school through interviews with the classroom teacher and researcher observations. The participants of the research; 3 students receiving pre-school education, 2 students who (cannot) receive pre-school education, and a classroom teacher are a total of 6 people. In the research, semi-structured interview forms (teacher), teacher diaries, Early Literacy Test (ELT), researcher observations, picture book for children and reading comprehension questions related to this book were used as data collection tools. The data collected in the research were analyzed with descriptive analysis. The findings obtained as a result of describing the data were discussed based on the relevant literature, and conclusions and recommendations were made in line with the purposes of the research. According to the results of the research, it was seen that the early literacy skill development of the students contributed greatly to their reading learning skills. At the same time, it has been observed that learning loss is experienced especially during a long vacation such as summer vacation, with the planning that supports development in early literacy skill development only in the school environment. It has been seen that pre-school education and Interactive Book Reading (IBR) activities applied for early literacy skill development contribute to the reading learning process. As a result of the research, the process of learning to read was examined in the context of pre-school education. In accordance with the individual differences and readiness levels of the students in the reading learning process, suggestions for longer-term planning of the reading learning process were presented.
