Amaç: Bu araştırma hemşirelik öğrencilerinde motivasyonel görüşmenin sigara bırakmada öz yeterlilik ve bağımlılık düzeyine etkisini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır.
Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırma tek kör randomize kontrollü deneysel çalışma olarak 15 Mayıs 2022-01 Nisan 2023 tarihleri arasında yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın evrenini Ordu Üniversitesi ve Giresun Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Fakülteleri Hemşirelik Bölümü öğrencileri, örneklemi ise araştırma kriterlerine uyan ve araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 78 hemşirelik öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın verileri “Kişisel Bilgi Formu”, “Fagerström Nikotin Bağımlılık Testi”, “Öz Yeterlilik Ölçeği” ve “Değişim Aşamasını Değerlendirme Formu” ile toplanmıştır. Deney grubundaki hemşirelik öğrencilerine 1. ay yüz yüze, 2. ve 3. ay çevrimiçi, 4., 5., ve 6. ay yüz yüze motivasyonel görüşme yapılmıştır. Kontrol gruplarına araştırma sürecinde herhangi bir girişim uygulanmamıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde; Pearson Ki-Kare Testi, Bonferroni Düzeltmesi, Tek Yönlü Varyans Analizi, Tukey Testi, Kruskal Wallis Testi, Dunn Testi, İki Yönlü Robust Anova testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma için kurum izni ve etik kurul onayı alınmıştır.
Bulgular: Deney ve kontrol grupları öğrencilerinin “Öz Yeterlilik Ölçeği” ve “Psikososyal”, “Alışkanlık”, “Olumsuz Duygulanım”, “Gevşeme” ve “Huzursuzluk” alt boyutları ön test ve son test değerleri arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmuştur (p<0.05). Deney ve kontrol grupları öğrencilerinin “Fagerström Nikotin Bağımlılık Testi” ön test ve son test farkı ortanca değerleri arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark belirlenmiştir (p<0.001).
Sonuç: Araştırmada deney grubu hemşirelik öğrencilerine uygulanan motivasyonel görüşmenin öz yeterliliği artırdığı ve bağımlılık düzeyini azalttığı bulunmuştur.
Aim: This study was conducted to determine the effect of motivational interviewing on the level of self-efficacy and addiction in smoking cessation in nursing students.
Material and Method: “The study was carried out between 15 May 2022 and 01 April 2023 as a single-blind randomized controlled experimental study. The population of the study consisted of Ordu University and Giresun University Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing Department students, and the sample consisted of 78 nursing students who met the research criteria and agreed to participate in the research. The data of the study were collected with “Personal Information Form”, “Fagerström Nicotine Addiction Test”, “Self-Efficacy Scale” and “Change Stage Evaluation Form”. The nursing students in the experimental group were interviewed face-to-face in the 1st month, online in the 2nd and 3rd months, and face-to-face in the 4th, 5th and 6th months. No intervention was applied to the control groups during the research process. In the evaluation of the data; Pearson Chi-Square Test, Bonferroni Correction, One-Way Analysis of Variance, Tukey Test, Kruskal Wallis Test, Dunn Test, Two-Way Robust Anova test were used. Institutional permission and ethics committee approval were obtained for the research”.”
Results: A statistically significant difference was found between the pretest and posttest difference values of the "Self-Efficacy Scale" and "Psychosocial", "Habit", "Negative Affect", "Relaxation" and "Restlessness" sub-dimensions of the students in the experimental and control groups (p<0.05). A statistically significant difference was determined between the median values of the pretest and posttest difference in the "Fagerström Test for Nicotine Dependence" of the students in the experimental and control groups (p<0.001).”
Conclusions: In the study, it was found that the motivational interview applied to the experimental group nursing students increased self-efficacy and decreased the level of addiction.
