yörelerin değerli ceviz genetik kaynaklarına sahip olduğuna işaret etmiştir.,This study was performed to determine promising genotypes within seedling walnut
trees grown from seed in Akpınar and Kaman districts (Kırşehir Province, Turkey) in
2016-2017. Tree and nut characteristics of 13 promising genotypes were recorded in
comparison to those of Kaman 5, Pedro ve Chandler cultivars. Promising genotypes
had a range of 30.4-37.5 mm for nut width, 37.7-47.7 mm for nut length, 30.3-37.5
mm for nut thickness, 10.17-16.85 g for nut weigth, 5.29-8.6 g for kernel weight,
42.8-61.6 % for kernel percengate, 0.95-2.10 mm for shell thickness and 10-95 % for
lateral fruitfulness. In addition, shell color was light for 11 genoypes. Seven
genotypes had light colored kernels. Kernel removal was good for 6 genotypes.
Findings revealed that Akpınar and Kaman districts have rich genetic resources for
future breeding efforts.
