Fen Bilgisi Öğretmen Adaylarının Uzay-Zaman Kavramı Hakkındaki Bilgi Düzeylerinin Ölçülmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı; Fen Bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının Uzay, Zaman, Hız ve Kütle çekiminin Uzay-Zaman bağlamında bilgi düzeylerini ölçmek ve Uzay-Zaman kavramının farkındalığı ile Zamanın değişebilirliğini incelemektir. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemi tarama (survey) modeli olan betimsel araştırma tekniği kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak 15 soruluk anket geliştirilmiştir. 3 aşamadan oluşan anketin ilk aşaması 3 şıklı çoktan seçmeli olarak, ikinci aşaması 4 şıklı çoktan seçmeli ve 1 şıkkı açık uçlu olmak üzere 5 şıklı, üçüncü aşama ise 5’li likert tipi olarak yapılandırılmıştır. Hazırlanan anket uzman görüşü alınarak 66 kişilik bir örneklem üzerinde uygulanarak cronbach-alpha katsayısı 0.71 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini Giresun Üniversitesi Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliğinde okuyan 120 kişi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma sonucunda Fen Bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının Uzay-Zaman kavramı hakkındaki bilgi düzeylerinin zayıf olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte Uzay, Zaman, Yerçekimi ve Hız kavramları hakkında öğrencilerin kavram yanılgılarına sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. Uzay-Zaman kavramının temelini teşkil eden bu kavramlar hakkında hatalı bilgi veya kavram yanılgılarına sahip olunması zaman kavramının tam olarak anlaşılmasını engellediği düşünülmektedir. Bu durumun öğretmen adaylarının kendi öğrencilerine Uzay-Zaman ve Zamanın akış hızının değişebilir bir kavram olduğu hakkında yeterli ve doyurucu bilgi verememesine neden olabileceği sonucuna ulaşılabilir. Zaman kavramının yeterince bilinmemesi öğrencilerin zaman ile alakalı almış oldukları eğitimin eksik yanlarının bulunduğu kanaatini uyandırmaktadır. Temel astronomi ve Uzay-Zaman kavramına daha fazla önem verilerek üniversite seviyesinde eğitim programlarında yer almasının faydalı olacağı düşünülmektedir.,

The aim of this research is to measure the knowledge levels of space, time, speed and mass attraction of teacher candidates in space-time context and examine the awareness of the concept of space - time and the variability of time. Descriptive research technique, which is a quantitative research method screening model, was used in the research. A questionnaire comprising of fifteen questions was developed as a data collection tool in the study. The first stage of the three stage survey is structured in the form of three close ended-multiple choice questions, whereas the second stage is structured as four close ended and one open ended questions five multiple choice questions, as to third stage it is structured as the five-point likert type. The cronbach alpha coefficient was calculated as 0.71 by applying the questionnaire on the sample of 66 students. The sample of the study consists of 120 people studying at Giresun University Science Teacher Training. As a result of the research, it was determined that the knowledge levels of science teachers' candidates about space time concept are weak. However, it has been determined that students have conceptual misconceptions about the concepts of Space, Time, Gravity and Speed. It is considered that having erroneous knowledge or misconceptions about these concepts that constitute the basis of the Space-Time concept hinders a complete understanding of the concept of time. This can be the result of the fact that prospective teacher candidates may not be able to provide sufficient and satisfactory information to their students about the flow rate of space-time and time being a changeable concept. The fact that the concept of time is not well known raises the belief that there are missing aspects of the education in which the students are related to time. It is thought that it would be useful to integrate basic astronomy and space-time concepts into universitey level education courses by putting more emphasis on the them.
