Kavram Karikatürleri ve Kavramsal Değişim Metinlerinin 6. Sınıf Öğrencilerinin Bilişsel Yüküne, Akademik Başarısına ve Kalıcılığına Etkisi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada 6. Sınıf “Bitki ve Hayvanlarda Üreme, Büyüme ve Gelişme” ünitesi konularına için geliştirilen kavram karikatürü ile kavramsal değişim metinlerinin öğrencilerin akademik başarısına, kalıcılığına ve bilişsel yüküne olan etkisi araştırılmıştır. Çalışma 2015-2016 eğitim-öğretim yılında Ordu ilinde 30 deney ve 30 kontrol grubu öğrencisiyle yürütülmüştür (N=60). Yarı deneysel bir araştırma yöntemi olan “ön test- son test kontrol gruplu araştırma modeli çalışmada kullanılmıştır Kontrol grubunda dersler çalışma yaprağı şeklinde hazırlanan kavram karikatürleri ile kavramsal değişim metinleri kullanılarak işlenmiş, deney grubunda ise web destekli kavram karikatürleri ile kavramsal değişim metinleri kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada veri toplama araçları olarak hazırlanan başarı testi deney ve kontrol grubuna ön test- son test olarak uygulanmıştır. Bilişsel yük ölçeği başarı son-testinden sonra öğrencilere uygulanmıştır. Kalıcılık testi ise uygulamadan iki ay sonra yapılarak öğrencilerin kalıcılık puanlarına ilişkin veriler elde edilmiştir. Araştırmadaki veriler SPSS 21 ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda deney ve kontrol grubunun başarı ön test puanları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık görülmemiş, başarı son test ortalama puanları arasında deney grubu lehine anlamlı bir farklılık görülmüştür. Kalıcılık yönünden son-test ve kalıcılık testi puanları açısından iki grup arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır. Deney grubundaki öğretim materyalinin, kontrol grubundaki öğretim materyalinden daha etkili olduğu görülmüştür. Deney grubundaki web destekli öğretim materyalleri öğrencilerdeki bilişsel yükü düşürüp öğretim verimliliği düzeyini arttırmıştır.,

In this study, the effect of concept cartoons and conceptual change texts used together on succession, permanence and cognitive load prepared in accordance with 6th grade “Reproduction, Growth and Development in Plants and Animals” is examined. The Project is conducted between the semester year of 2015-2016 in Ordu province with 30 subjects and 30 control group students (N=60). The method of this research is one the semi experimental research model which is “Pre test-last test control group model”. The lessons in control group is carried out by concept cartoons and conceptual change text prepared as work sheet, and in the experimental group web-supported concept cartoons and conceptual change texts are used. In the Project the data collection method of succession test is implemented on both groups as pre test-last test. Cognitive load scale is performed on students after the succes last-test. The data students permanence score is obtained from the permanence test conducted after two months. The data collected is analysed by SPSS 21 package program. At the end of the research it was observed that the difference between the succession score of pre test experiment group and control group was not substantial, yet the average score of the succession of last test has a substantial difference in favor of last test. In the perspective of permanence last test and permanence test score, there was not any substantial difference observed between two group. It was observed that the teaching materiel in test group was more effective than that of the control group. The web supported teaching materiel in test group has lightened the cognitive load on students and increased the efficiency in education.
