Abstract: Bu araştırma, Şanlıurfa ilinde ikamet eden ve Ordu’ya fındık toplamaya gelen ailesi mevsimlik tarım işçisi (MTİ) olan 5-8. sınıf 163 ortaokul öğrencisiyle yapılmıştır. Doğru bilim insanı imajı oluşturmak için müfredatta özellikle yer alması gelecek meslek seçimi açısından önemlidir.,This study was carried out on 5-8 years old family of seasonal agricultural workers living in Şanlıurfa province. Grade 163 secondary school students. The aim of this study was to determine students' perceptions of scientists that make up Turkey's most disadvantaged groups. Science Attitude Scale ’and Draw a Scientist Test’ (DAST) were applied as a mixed method. IMB SPSS Statistic 22 package program was used for data analysis of 5-point Likert-type attitude scale consisting of 34 items whose reliability was determined as Cronbah Alpha 0.90. DASTC was used for DAST analysis. According to the data obtained from the attitude scale, it was found that gender and age differences did not create a significant difference in the perception of scientists. The students have drawn the scientist working in the laboratory, dealing with experiments and inventions, mostly men and beards. Most studies so far support this conclusion. Considering that the school attendance of family children ranged from 3-4 months, the fact that no different results were obtained from the other students attending formal education led to the conclusion that the perception of scientists did not occur significantly in school. There is a need for a detailed analysis of the cartoons that children watch, and the magazines and books they read. In order to create the image of the right scientist, it is especially important for the future career choice to be included in the curriculum.
