Amasya-Gümüşhacıköy İlçesi Gümüş Yeni (Maden) Camii (Hagios Georgios Kilisesi)

Abstract

Tez çalınmasının konusunu Amasya İli, Gümüşhacıköy İlçesi Gümüş Kasabası Maden Mahallesi’nde bulunan Osmanlı dönemi Rum kilisesi oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada yapının mimari özellikleri, üslubu ve süsleme özellikleri ayrıntılı olarak ele alınmıştır. Yapının inşa tarihinin ve evrelerinin belirlenmesi, mimari özelliklerinin ve geçirdiği değişimin değerlendirilmesi ve Sanat Tarihi’ndeki yerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Tez çalışmamızın girişini amaç, içerik ve yöntem oluşturmaktadır. Kilisenin yer aldığı Gümüş yerleşiminin anlatıldığı bölümün ardından adı, bölgenin tarihçesi, demografik yapısı ve Gümüş’te yaşayan Rumlara ait bilgilere değinilmektedir. Bir sonraki bölümde Osmanlı Dönemi’nde kilise inşasına dair temel bilgilere yer verilmiştir. Üçüncü bölüm Gümüş Yeni (Maden) Camii’nin (Hagios Georgios Kilisesi) adı, inşa tarihi ve evrelerinin tespitine yönelik bulgularla başlamaktadır; daha sonra araştırma konumuz olan yapı mimarisi ve dekorasyonuyla ayrıntılı olarak tanıtılmaktadır. Dördüncü bölüm yapının kiliseden camiye dönüşüm sürecine odaklanmış olup, camiye çevrilmesi, geçirmiş olduğu deprem ve sonrasında Tokat Vakıflar Bölge Müdürlüğü tarafından 2006-2007 yılında yapılan restorasyon çalışmaları sırasında gerçekleştirilen değişimlerin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Karşılaştırma kısmında, tez konumuz olan yapı elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda hem kendi içerisinde hem de dönem örnekleriyle karşılaştırılarak değerlendirilmektedir. Bu bölümde Anadolu’nun pek çok bölgesinden örneklerden bahsedilmiş olmakla birlikte özellikle yapının da içerisinde bulunduğu Karadeniz Bölgesi yapılarına değinilmiştir. Sonuç bölümünde yapıya dair bütün keşiflerimiz ve değerlendirme sonrası ortaya çıkan görüşlerimiz kısaca sıralanarak tez sonlandırılmaktadır.

The subject of the thesis is the Ottoman Period Greek church located in the Maden district of the GümüĢ town of the GümüĢhacıköy district in the Amasya Province. In the study, the architectural features, style and decoration of the building are discussed in detail. It is aimed to determine the construction date and phases of the building, to evaluate its architectural features and the change it has undergone, and also to determine its place in the History of Art. The aim, content and method constitute the introduction of thesis. After the section on the GümüĢ settlement, where the church is located, its name, the history of the region, its demographic structure and information about the Greeks lived in GümüĢ are mentioned. In the next section, fundamental information about the construction of churches during the Ottoman Period is provided. The third chapter begins with the findings regarding the name, construction date and phases of the GümüĢ Yeni (Maden) Mosque (Hagios Georgios Church) and then, the architecture and decoration of the building, which are our research topic, are introduced in detail. The fourth chapter focuses on the transformation process of the building from a church to a mosque, and it is aimed to determine the changes made during the restoration work carried out by Tokat Regional Directorate of Foundations in 2006-2007. In the comparison section, the building that is the subject of the thesis is evaluated both in itself and by comparing with contemporary examples, in coordination with the data obtained. In this section, examples from several regions of Anatolia are given but especially buildings from the Black Sea Region, where the monument in question is also located, are mentioned. In the conclusion part, the thesis is finalized by listing all our discoveries about the structure in brief and our opinions that followed the evaluation.
