Abstract: Şer‟îye Sicilleri, şehir tarihçiliği için oldukça önemli bir kaynaktır. Araştırmaya konu olan bölgenin siyasi, idari, ticari, sosyal ve dini alanları hakkında geniş bilgiler vermektedir. Bu bilgilere istinaden geçmişten günümüze değişen mekânsal isimlerin evrimini, şehrin geçim kaynağını, mahkeme kayıtlarında bulunan evlenme, boşanma, mehir ve miras haklarını, borç ve cinayet gibi konuların gün yüzüne çıkmasına olanak sağlamaktadır.
Court records are a very important resource for urban historiography. It provides comprehensive information about the political, administrative, commercial, social and religious areas of the region that is the subject of the research. According to this information, it examines the evolution of spatial names that have changed from the past to the present, the livelihood of the city, the rights of marriage, divorce, mahr and inheritance in the court records, the tradition, tradition, culture and economic side of the period researched with the emergence of issues such as debt and murder. In the study, the Amasya Court book numbered 59 was examined and evaluated. At the beginning, Ottoman law and the importance of the court book were explained, so it was concluded that it would be more accurate to examine the book by being familiar with the court system of the Ottoman Empire. The emergence of the city of Amasya on the stage of history and its geographical location were discussed and then the Amasya Court Book numbered 59 was introduced. After getting to know the city of Amasya and the notebook studied, the contents of the notebook were examined, and the social and economic life of the city between the years of H.1195-1196, its interpersonal relations and the arrangements made with the orders from the Center were discussed. Finally, the transcription of the Amasya court book numbered 59 was written. At the end of the study, the original pages of the notebook were included in order to reach the documents in more detail.
