İlkokul 4. Sınıf Sosyal Bilgiler Dersinde Yaratıcı Drama Yöntemi Kullanımının Öğrencilerin Akademik Başarılarına, Tutumlarına ve Öğretimin Kalıcılığına Etkisi

Abstract

Bu araştırmada, 2015-2016 eğitim-öğretim yılında ilkokul 4. sınıf Sosyal Bilgiler dersi “Üretim, Dağıtım, Tüketim” öğrenme alanında yer alan “Üretimden Tüketime” ünitesinin öğretiminde “yaratıcı drama” yöntemi kullanımının öğrencilerin derse yönelik başarılarına, tutumlarına ve öğretimin kalıcılığına olan etkisi araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ön test-son test kontrol gruplu deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Deney grubunda yaratıcı drama yöntemiyle hazırlanmış ders planları ile öğretim gerçekleştirilirken, kontrol grubundaki öğrencilere programın ön gördüğü yöntem ve tekniklerle öğretim yapılmıştır. Deney grubu için uygulanan ders planları uzman görüşü doğrultusunda araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanmıştır. “Üretimden Tüketime” ünitesine başlamadan 2 hafta önce deney ve kontrol grubuna ünite başarı testi ve tutum ölçeği ilk test olarak uygulanmıştır. 4 hafta süren uygulamadan 1 hafta sonra aynı testler son test olarak uygulanmıştır. Son testten 3 ay sonra öğrenilen bilgilerin kalıcılığını saptamak amacıyla aynı test kalıcılık testi yapılması suretiyle üç aşamada veriler toplanmıştır. Araştırmada, öğrencilerin Sosyal Bilgiler dersine yönelik tutumlarını belirlemek amacıyla MEB tarafından geliştirilen “Sosyal Bilgiler Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Tutum Ölçeği ön-test, son-test ve kalıcılık testi olarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen veriler t-testi ve tekrarlı ölçümler için Çift Yönlü Varyans Analizi ile çözümlenmiştir. İstatistikî işlemler SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) 11. paket programında yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarından elde edilen bulgular; yaratıcı dramanın Sosyal Bilgiler dersinde bir yöntem olarak kullanımının öğrencilerde ders başarısını, derse olan tutumu ve öğrenilen bilginin kalıcılığı üzerinde olumlu yönde etkilediğini göstermektedir.

In this study, the effect of use of “creative drama” method was investigated on the students' achievement, attitudes and retention of teaching in the “From Production to Consumption” unit in the learning strand of “Production, Consumption, Distribution” of the 4 th grade Social Studies Course of primary school in 2015-2016 academic year. Experimental design with pre-test-post-test control group was used in the research. While the lesson plans prepared with the creative drama method were performed in the experimental group, the students in the control group were taught with the methods and techniques suggested by the program. The lesson plans for the experiment group were prepared by the researcher and expert opinion was obtained. Academic achievement test and attitude scale were applied as the first test in the experiment and control group 2 weeks before starting the “From Production to Consumption” unit. The same tests were applied as a final test 1 week after 4 weeks of application. Three months after the last test, the same test retention test was performed to determine the permanence of the learned knowledge. Data were collected in three stages. In the study, the “Social Studies Attitude Questionnaire” developed by MoNE was used to determine students' attitudes towards social studies course. Attitude questionnaire was applied as pre-test, post-test and permanence test. Data obtained from the study were analyzed by two-way ANOVA test. Statistical procedures were performed on the 11th edition of SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) software. Findings obtained from the research results says that the use of creative drama as a method in the Social Studies lesson has positively affected the students’ academic achievements, attitudes and the persistence of the learned knowledge.
