dc.description.abstract |
Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) is the leading cause of death in
the all ages women and men. Nevertheless the first presentation
with CAD occurs approximately 10 years later among women
than men, most commonly after menopause. Postmenopausal
women have more CAD risk factors, such as obesity, hypertension
and hyperlipidemia, likely owing to the changing hormonal
environment. Estrogen can have favorable lipid fractions so
cardiovascular effects. We present the case of young female patient
who developed CAD and underwent CABG. Interestingly, the only
risk factor for our patient was very low HDL-C. |
