Abstract:
A 40-year-old woman was referred to our radiology department, half an hour after a motor vehicle accident. At the clinic, she had severe back pain. The physical examination of the patient showed clinical evidence of extensive thoracolumbar trauma, and revealed severe tenderness to palpation in the posterior sections of the thoracolumbar vertebrae. There was no traumatic wound of the spinal column. Multidetector computed tomography revealed multiple fractures of spinous processes of the thoracolumbar vertebrae
