Abstract:
This study was carried out to determine the pomological traits of cherry (Prunus avium L.) genotypes grown in Center, Torul and Krtn provinces in Gumushane province in the Eastern Black Sea Region of Turkey in 2008 and 2009 years. The "weight-ranked method" was used to evaluate the genotypes. This weight-ranked method was done based on fruit weight, fruit flavor, fruit flesh percent and total soluble solids/titratable acidity ratio. Six cherry genotypes were determined as promising genotypes. As a result of this study, '29 K 24', '29 K 03', '29 K 29', '29 K 27', '29 K 23' and '29 V 22' genotypes had the highest score of the examined cherry genotypes, respectively. In the promising genotypes, the harvest dates were from 18 June to 30 July, fruit weight varied from 6.8-9.8 g, fruit flesh percent varied from 94.3 to 95.6% and total soluble solids/titratable acidity ratio varied from 26.5 to 36.3.
