dc.description.abstract	In the literature on Islamic Law (fiqh), there is a dispute on the necessity of equality in marriage, known as kafa'ah. The requisite for equality in marriage was systematised into criteria in the light of the verses of the Quran and Hadiths and the tradition in the period of the Great Imams. In this article, approaches to the issues of equality in marriage are reviewed.	en_US
